Project "Construction of a thematic route of the fishing and maritime tradition of the Podvelebit Canal"

The municipality of Karlobag has successfully implemented the project "Construction of the thematic route of the fishing and maritime tradition of the Podvelebit Canal", submitted on May 15, 2020 to the 1st FLAG competition for the development of tourist facilities.

The goal was to strengthen the recognition of the fishing sector and to educate about the importance of environmental protection. The route connects Karlobag and Cesarica, encouraging sector cooperation and promoting fishing traditions. The project was financed with EUR 225,652.83 from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. It was successfully implemented, leaving a lasting mark in the preservation of fishing heritage and the promotion of sustainable development.
