POTS

Pots are a piece of equipment in which the fish are caught, or in which the fish voluntary enter and which stops their escape. They are intended for catching fish or crabs and they are made in the form of cages or baskets from different material (wood, wicker, metal rods, wire netting etc.) with one or more openings or entrances. They are usually put at the bottom, with or without bait, individually or in rows, ropes (float lines) are attached on the surface floats which show the positions of the ropes.

NETS

Nets are a series of single, double or triple grids, vertical, near surface, in the midwater or at the bottom, in which the fish get caught or entangled. The net is held on surface by different floats or on a certain distance under it. It flows freely with the current, separately or, more often, with the vessel to which is attached to.

HOOKS AND LINES

Hooks and lines are tools which are used in a way that a fish is attracted by a hook on which natural or artificial baits (decoys) are put and they are attached at the end of the line or the snood on which they are caught.

SURFACE LONGLINERS

Surface longliner is comprised of the main line (the base) which is held by correctly set floats near a surface or at a certain depth and with a relatively long line with hooks with baits, evenly put on the main line. Surface longliners can be very long. Some surface longliners are set vertically, each hook hangs from the float on the surface.

TROLLING LINES

A simple hook with a natural or synthetic bait which is set by the vessel near the surface or at a certain depth. A few hooks are simultaneously drawn by the crossbar.
